Roy Williams has some very big shoes to fill in Big D, with T.O. now out of town. Can he do it? There’s no way he comes close to giving you Owens’ crazy good numbers, but there is a chance he gives you solid NFL WR1 and fantasy WR2 numbers. Williams is a risk, but one worth taking in the late fourth or fifth round of your draft. 80-1050-8.
Positives / Upside He really struggled after being traded to the Cowboys last year, but he did have to battle his plantar fascia injury, learning a new offense, and playing opposite T.O. on the field. This is good, as it should allow you to draft him a bit later. For what it’s worth, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been impressed with Williams’ dedication and work ethic so far, and it should be easier for Roy to have more of an impact in T.O.’s old role.
Negatives / Downside There’s a chance that Marion Barber in the running game and Jason Witten in the passing game make Williams somewhat of a fantasy non-factor, or at least inconsistent, disappearing statistically in more games than you’d want from your WR2. The Cowboys do have a tough schedule for the pass this season.
Recommendation Buy at cost

Williams' shoulder is fine

Williams hurt his shoulder on August 26. It was originally thought to be a broken collarbone. Turns out it was just a bruise. He's fine. Draft as you normally would.
