Steady is as steady goes. There's no reason to expect any less from Welker this year than he has delivered in the past two. Despite the mysterious injury, confidently draft him in of Round Four in PPR leagues. 100-1050-6.
Positives / Upside Not that it matters, as Welker was just fine last year without him, but uber-quarterback Tom Brady is back. The Pats have a very easy passing schedule this year.
Negatives / Downside He'll likely miss Week 1 with an undisclosed injury.
Recommendation Buy at cost

Welker destroys knee

Welker tore his ACL and MCL in Week 17 of the 2009 NFL season. His likely scenario is being placed on the PUP to start the 2010 season, which means he wouldn't play until Week 7 at the earliest, and there's a chance he'll never be the same after the injury. The Pats' hope is that Julian Edelman can step right in and fill Welker's shoes.
