Pettigrew could face steep learning curve

Pettigrew could develop into a safety valve in the offense and decent red zone target (though not likely with any consistency as a rookie in 09). If you're into upside in your keeper league, draft him late as your TE2. Otherwise, use 09 to watch him develop as he sits on the waiver wire. 35-450-4.
Positives / Upside Detroit will undoubtedly throw often, always playing from behind. Not a bad passing schedule at all for the Lions this year.
Negatives / Downside Lions quarterbacks could under-perform.
Recommendation Only in a keeper league
Draft Position 197

Pettigrew breaks out in Week 9
written by DaveGawron, November 11, 2009
Pettigrew caught 7 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in Week 9 at Seattle. If you lost Chris Cooley or Owen Daniels and are scrambling for a replacement, Pettigrew is worth taking a chance on. It's conceivable that after 9 NFL weeks he and Matthew Stafford have matured enough that Pettigrew can be useful as a low-end fantasy tight end going forward.
