Editor reviewHow about a healthy season in 09, Reggie?0 of 0 people found the following review helpful
In his short, three year NFL career, Reggie Bush has proven three truths. 1) He can catch the ball out of the backfield very well. 2) He is not very good running the ball. 3) He has trouble staying healthy. He had a very solid seven-game run to start the 2008 season, where he amassed most of his stats, but was hurt and virtually useless after that. He is currently recovering from microfracture surgery but is expected to be at full strength for the regular season. How long that will last is anybody’s guess. He has caught 213 passes in 38 games as a pro, so he is certainly a PPR darling. His downfall is his running ability out of the backfield. Bush previously had to contend with Deuce McAllister for touches, but Pierre Thomas proved he could handle the running and goal line duties last year and will certainly handle most of the carries this season. Don’t expect more than 150 carries from Bush in 2009. Do expect many receptions. Bush should be drafted in Round Four, where most options are risky anyway. His projected numbers slot him at 30 overall, but I personally wouldn't take him until the late fourth round because of the injury risk. If you can stomach some missed games, take him as a RB3/FLEX with homerun capability. Otherwise, consider a top quarterback or wide receiver at that point in your draft. 150-550-3-75-600-3.
