Rosenfels comes to the Vikings after spending three years in Houston. He has a history of great fill-in games for Matt Schaub, though he only played in one game in 2008. He should replace Tarvaris Jackson in Minnesota, who will now back him up. However, Rosenfels, while more likely to put up more yards and score more touchdowns, is also prone to mistakes (interceptions and fumbles). Minnesota will put up with a certain amount of mistakes if he can open up the offense and take pressure off of Adrian Peterson. However, he won't likely put up consistent fantasy numbers, so leave him as a late-round QB3. 1500-10-8 (30-60-0 rushing) in 8 games. NOTE: With the Favre signing, Rosenfels becomes a back-up. However, I believe that Favre is toast, and Rosenfels will take over at some point. Still, don't draft either quarerback, unless you just love Favre and take him with a late pick for sentimental reasons behind a big fantasy QB like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning.
Positives / Upside The Vikes have a beautiful easy stretch of schedule in weeks ten through thirteen.
Negatives / Downside Sage typically turns the ball over often. He'll have Tarvaris Jackson breathing down his neck if he gets the job from Favre at some point. The Vikes' schedule isn't very easy outside of the aforementioned Week 10-13 stretch. The Vikes are a run-first team with a solid defense not likely to get into many barn-burners.
Recommendation Avoid
Draft Position 235
