I would only consider drafting Brady if he fell to the late third round and I didn't like my RB and WR choices at that point. Granted, he could be a bargain at that point, but I want to try to minimize risk in the first three-to-five rounds as much as possible. 4300-35-12.
Positives / Upside He's a great quarterback in a great system - perhaps the best we've seen since Montana, Elway, and Marino. 4600-40-10.
Negatives / Downside You never know how coming off major surgery will affect a players' game. His coach will do whatever it takes to win, including handing the ball off for the entire second half of games if he feels that's the best course of action. The Patriots' defense and running game could also be improved this year. 4000-25-15.
Recommendation Only at a discount
Draft Position 26

Positives / Upside He's another year removed from his knee surgery and he's playing for a contract.
Negatives / Downside His coach will do whatever it takes to win, including handing the ball off for the entire second half of games if he feels that's the best course of action. The Patriots' defense and running game could also be improved this year.
Recommendation Go the extra dollar
Draft Position 36

Brady playing through pain
written by DaveGawron, January 05, 2010
Brady has been playing through cracked ribs and a broken finger, but the Ravens pass defense is poor, and he can play through the pain, so go with him in your playoff contest this week, despite the loss of Welker (Edelman should fill in just fine).
