Correia has an odd data set upon which to base projections and this means a bargain for you. Correia was called up at age 22 after only 56.2 professional innings. He worked mainly in relief thereafter with some spot starting until coming over to the Padres and being injured. Last year was his first year as a starter in the major leagues and he was basically the same pitcher throughout the year, a few extra home runs in the first half distort the 4.50/3.26 ERA split between first and second half. And interestingly those extra home runs came at home, so we shouldn't expect his rates to balloon.Correia is not a dominating pitcher, So you'll want to expect a few bumps along the way, but what he did in 2009 is a harbinger of 2010 and a darn good bargain. PetCo is the best insurance on the market for a starting pitcher. 15-0-3.70-1.30-160. 200IP
