Editor reviewWhere There's a Willingham....0 of 0 people found the following review helpful
Remember when Willingham had catcher eligibility? Wouldn't this profile look different if that were still the case? Willingham is a great illustration of the danger of getting too excited over splits. In 2009 Willingham rocked lefties to the tune of .300 while righties only .251. Ah-Hah! we cry...until we notice that in 2008 it was .248/.252 and in 2007 .218/.281 so now we are getting excited that maybe he is learning how to hit lefties and then we see the 2006 .299/.269. Splits do this all the time. What's more exciting about Willingham is that if he could post 550 ABs at the rates he had last season, he'd have 30 homes runs to go along with 80 RBI and 90 Rs. It's not the most likely outcome, but the Nats are improved and Willingham is a good batter with a solid OBP. .260-85-25-70-3. 500ABs
