Cruz slugged 33 home runs in his first full season of action and looks to improve on that total this year. In early mock drafts, Cruz is going around the sixth round, which seems a bit high. He’s a legitimate 20/20 threat, but his low average leaves him below what he should be producing in runs and RBI. If he can become more disciplined at the plate, he’ll increase those totals, but don’t count on it. .255-80-30-80-20 in 500 AB

Positives / Upside	Cruz had a breakout power season in 2009, crushing pitcher after pitcher en route to 33 long flies. The power and speed were new to Cruz, but another season like 2009 and he'll be worth every penny. .265-85-33-85-23 in 530 AB
Negatives / Downside	Can he do it again? Break out seasons generally come before age 28, which causes more than a few red flags. There's a decent chance that Cruz returns to where he came from, leaving owners frustrated and searching for answers. .245-70-25-70-15 in 450 AB

Positives / Upside	Huge power potential + Ballpark at Arlington = possibly a very special year on deck. The last time his SLG was below .500 was in 2003 at A-ball with Oakland.
Negatives / Downside	He was absolutely nothing to write home about in 437 at-bats over 2006 & 2007 with Texas so buying now feels risky. He is walking the fine line of major leaguer and AAAAer. This is his last chance to be taken seriously.

Positives / Upside	Massive power last year, plays in Texas, can even steal bases
Negatives / Downside	Cleared waivers at the beginning of the season in '08, so a slump and he's back to the bench. His leash is very short.
