Danny Espinoza 2B/SS WSN ($55 TC drop Kevin Correia)
The hot hitting Nats second-bagger is making a real splash. Intrepid RotoCommunity.com leader and chief bottle-washer grabbed Espinosa to shore up batting average concerns. Espinoza is not a bad little player, but his career high batting average over low A ball was .295 this season at triple-A. However with six players bunched between .2716 and .2735 in batting average, there's points to be had and Dave, in 3rd overall, has some ground to make up. Hot hand overrides long term prognosis.
Chris Narveson SP/RP MIL ($35 TC drop Scott Baker)
Nareveson is not our favorite matchup this week. Despite the two start week, he gets the white-hot Brett Myers on the road and then Barry Zito in San Francisco. However he has had three straight solid outings Surrendering five runs in 20.1 innings, striking out 23 with a sub 1.00 WHIP.
Logan Morrison 1B/OF FLA ($30 drop Felix Pie)
Second place Matt Lutovsky of the SpotingNews.com entry for the Triple Crown league jumped on the hot hitting Morrison. Morrison has a nine game hitting streak in which he has hit .412 and has reached base safely in 30 straight games. We understand that is good and are a bit surprised he didn;t draw heavier bidding. Since Lutovsky is comfortably in the lead for BA and Morrison has very little power, it couldn't have gone to a nicer guy (from the league's perspective). The sporting news team could possibly pick up and additional point in runs.
Jeff Keppinger 2B/SS/3B HOU ($11 TC Drop Kevin Kouzmanoff)
Another straight BA pick. Kepp should be kept in mind for all daily change leagues because of his positional flexibility and in leagues where BA is as tight as it is in the Triple Crown. Keppinger is a known quantity and the Astros aren't exactly contenders, so you will want to closely monitor the news before starting him week to week.
Barry Enright SP ARI ($3 TC drop Wandy Rodriguez)
Enright's price dropped because of his poor start in San Francisco, but he won three of his last four with only 3 earned runs in 20.2 innings. Enright is a two start selection on the road facing the contending Reds with Bronson Arroyo and then the Pirates with James MacDonald. Since he is not a great strikeout source he's a candidate to sit unless you must take a chance to grab wins.
Justin Masterson SP CLE ($5 TC drop Alex Sanabia)
**Edit** It has been announced that Masterson will pitch out of the bullpen for the rest of the season due to innings limitations. ** Masterson has won two of his last three while giving up only four earned runs over 20.2 innings and striking out 15. He gets favorable matchups against the Angels at home and Trevor Bell and Brian Bannister in Kansas City.
ALSO
Emilio Bonfacio 2B/3B/OF WSN qualifies a lot of places in many leagues and brings some speed to the table. The switch hitter is playing most days (a a pinch-hitter when he doesn't start) and he has some speed... Ryan Perry RP DET may get some play as the Tigers closer with Jose Valverde to miss time with a "tender" elbow. this situation is not supposed to last long... Chris Sale RP CHW got the save Friday. Matt Thornton was supposed to have gotten the opportunities with Bobby Jenks out, but Ozzie Guillen elected to go to the flashy rookie... Mark Trumbo 1B LAA probably won't have much value, buy his 36 home runs and 122 RBI in Salt Lake suggest he might be given a short run just to see... Lars Anderson 1B BOS nearly killed off his prospect status a year ago, then batted .355 to start of the season in double- followed by a mediocre trip to the .260's in triple-A when he was promoted. Since he has little power, this is almost a deal breaker. But with the Red Sox are without a real first baseman and their make believe one (Mike Lowell) with cracked ribs means he'll get some playing time.
