5. Haddadi, Hamed C MEM looked great this summer
He'll play limited minutes this season, but it's worth noting that he went 20-10-4 PTS-REB-BLK in recent summer play. If you're in an insanely deep seasonal league or a reasonably deep dynasty league that starts two centers, he's a name to tuck away.
4. Turiaf, Runny C should receive substantial minutes
He's been somewhat fragile, so we'd imagine that about 25 minutes is a good range for him. He could play center while Stoudemire plays the 4 and Randolph the 3, with Gallinari at the 2. In those 25 minutes, Turiaf should produce enough rebounds and blocks to serve as your fantasy C2 in a deep league, so draft him as such.
3. Villanueva, Charlie F DET stunk last season
He's apparently in fantastic shape now. He's one to put an asterisk next to at the end of your draft to snag as a lottery ticket, in case the better conditioning leads to better play. He had put up nice numbers with the Bucks before joining the Pistons.
2. Williams, Mo PG CLE will do more
Mo took a back seat to LeBron, often just spotting up threes. He will penetrate and dish more this season, so look for more scoring and assists.
1. Ming, Yao C HOU should play on Opening NightHowever, heis very likely to play limited minutes and miss the second game of back-to-back games. Don't expect 20-10 numbers from him, and don't expect many four game weeks. Somebody in your league will draft him earlier than they should. Don't let it be you.
ALSO
Just so you know, Brandon Rush SG IND (drugs) will be suspended for the first five games of the season, and Tyreke Evans G SAC (driving) will miss the first game... Yi Jianlian PF WAS is playing well for China this summer. Don't discount the possibility of the youngster having a break-out season in a new environment... Kevin Love C/F MIN intends to be a rebounding monster this season. We think he will, too. Draft accordingly... Tiago Splitter C/F SA has looked good this summer. Consider him a solid C2 sleeper for rebounds and blocks in fantasy... Johnny Flynn PG MIN is off crutches and progressing as expected. Even if he misses Opening Night, he should return shortly after... The following players signed this past week, but they aren't likely to be fantasy assets: just Earl Boykins PG (WAS) MIL this week.
