By looking at our RotoCommunity Expert League bids, we can help you with your waiver wire considerations. Here are the leagues we're using as points of analysis (both weekly transactions, TC $1000 FAAB budget, U $100 FAAB budget):

Ask a question about your waiver and line-up situations in our FORUM. Leave a comment about this article down below.

Haren, Dan SP ANA ($610 U, - drop Bedard, Erik SP SEA)

Clearly Haren is the biggest prize to make his way over to the American League thus far. Sure he hasn’t been great this year and had some difficulties in his first AL start, but Haren is a legit stud worthy of throwing a good deal of your remaining funds at. If you’ve got some cash to burn, make a strong bid for Haren.

Cantu, Jorge 1B TEX ($31 TC, - drop Feldman, Scott SP TEX)

Cantu got off to a torrid pace this season, but has come down to earth in a big way. After starting the season with at least one hit in 23 of his first 24 games, his average has dipped to just .261 and he sits at only 54 RBI. However, the Ballpark and Arlington and the Rangers lineup could be the cure that ails Cantu. A big second half is certainly a good possibility, which makes Cantu well worth a strong bid for a team in need of some offensive help.

Berkman, Lance 1B NYY (Trade not official at time of bidding)

If the Berkman deal becomes official before the weekly deadline in your league, Berkman is another great option for a team in need of an offensive boost. Berkman is having the worst season of his career, but he has been better as of late, and I don’t need to tell you that the move to the Yankees lineup and New Yankee Stadium should help Berkman’s production in a big way. A change of scenery is exactly what Berkman needed, and the fact that he will act as the Yanks designated hitter and avoid playing the field can only help.

ALSO

Keep your eyes open for any other trade deadline day trades that bring big names in the American League.  Adam Dunn may be the most likely star with a new AL address… In the non-trade deadline department, a trio of intriguing starting pitchers were picked up, Josh Tomlin CLE, Sean O’Sullivan KC, and David Hernandez BAL. All three are worth a look if you need a starter and miss out on Haren… 3B Josh Bell BAL was grabbed, and makes a good pick-up now that Tejada isn’t blocking his at bats… RP Michael Wuertz OAK and RP Craig Breslow OAK are good adds with Andrew Bailey on the DL. Wuertz is likely to get the majority of the saves opportunities, but expect Breslow to see the occasional chance as well.
