5. Hardesty, Montario RB CLE hurt his knee
Hardesty had moved ahead of Harrison as the starting back. He'll now miss about two weeks of action. With six weeks until the season begins, this is just a minor bump in the road if he can in fact return in two weeks. Do note that he had knee problems in college. If you draft early, this should allow you to take Hardesty at a decent discount.
4. Bryant, Dez WR DAL hurt his ankle
Bryant will miss 4-6 weeks because of the injury and be ready for action again between 9/1 and 9/15. Use this as a discount opportunity, and buy him at a reduced price. He might get off to a slow start, but he could easily be a solid fantasy WR2 as early as mid-October, so do still draft him.
3. Kelly, Malcolm WE WAS hurt his hamstring
We don't recommend drafting Kelly. The injury could cost him his starting gig, and if he doesn't get his act together, he could even lose his spot on the team.
2. Royal, Eddie WR DEN is working out of the slot
Royal is a nice sleeper to grab late in PPR leagues. He was awful last year, but maybe he will get back on track this year in the slot.
1. Peterson, Adrian RB MIN will see more third downs
Chester Taylor played most third downs last year, but with Taylor gone and just the rookie Gerhart in the picture, the team apparently feels more comfortable with the blocking from Peterson at this point. Perhaps bump up Peterson over Johnson in full PPR leagues.
ALSO
Knowshon Moreno RB DEN will miss about three weeks because of a hamstring injury. The Broncos may consider signing Brian Westbrook as insurance... Cedric Benson RB CIN will not be suspended. Having Terrell Owens in the fold could open up his running lanes even more. Rank/draft him as you normally would... Arian Foster RB HOU is currently easily beating out the rookie Tate in the Texans backfield. It should end up being Foster and Slaton splitting touches, with Tate just sprinkling in occasionally... Sidney Rice WR MIN is still having hip problems. Surgery could be required if it doesn't improve. He is now on my "do not touch" list... Malcom Floyd WR SD is looking good. Target him late as a player with upside potential... Glen Coffee RB SF is currently clearly the #2 back behind Frank Gore, so he's the hand-cuff, not rookie Anthony Dixon... Rookie Mike Williams WR TB is looking great. Definitely target him late for his upside.
