NOTE: The Bucs could start two rookie wide-outs in Week 1. Bryant regressed badly last season - partially due to injury - and won't be greatly missed.
THE BIG QUESTION
Can the Bucs' dynamic duo of rookie wide-outs help resurrect the historically bad Tampa Bay passing attack?
Second-year quarterback Josh Freeman has the raw tools for success, but his decision-making and ability to read coverage is suspect (stop us if you've heard this before). The Bucs tried to help Freeman move forward in his development by drafting a pair of dangerous receivers in the early rounds of the 2010 draft, and Arrelious Benn and Mike Williams could become fantasy-relevant as soon as Week 1. Benn is more of a possession, yards-after-catch kind of guy (think Anquan Boldin's style of play), while Williams is a home-run threat whose draft value was scuttled by some off-field problems at Syracuse. Given the motley crew of incumbent wide-outs in Tampa Bay, Benn and Williams could both be Week 1 starters. I tabbed Williams as a super-sleeper in this year's Fantasy Football Guide, and I'm sticking by that call. Forget the fact that he went in the fourth round; Tampa Bay is a good environment for a kid with problems between his ears. Watch the highlights and you'll see why I'm so excited about this youngster.
ALSO
After signing Derrick Ward to a big free-agent deal, the Bucs largely ignored him last season in favor of gimpy-kneed Cadillac Williams. If Cadillac throws a rod, Ward could become a solid No. 2 fantasy running back. The Buccaneers defense could be a sleeper this season, now that beefy rookie D-tackles Gerald McCoy and Brian Price are on board. This group has had a soft middle since Warren Sapp left town, but those days appear to be over.

NOTE: Freeman's job is safe, while running back looks like a committee situation. Bucs' fans have seen enough of Michael Clayton's balky hands to know that he'll never regain his rookie form. Conner Barth had a serviceable run as a place kicker last season, but could get the shoe if he hits an extended cold spell. Clifton Smith did double-duty as a return man last year, but almost certainly won't make any noise elsewhere in 2010.
