NOTE: Adding two veteran WR will not help not only QB Joe Flacco, but the running game as well. Drafting a TE to eventually take over for the declining veteran Todd Heap was a great move as well.
THE BIG QUESTION
How will the additions of two veteran WR change the Ravens game plan?
For years, the Ravens have been a run-first and run-second offense. But with the WR additions and QB Joe Flacco progressing in his second season, the game plan should adjust a little bit. However, with RB Ray Rice emerging into a stud, a decent FB threat in Le'Ron McClain and a solid veteran RB in Willis McGahee, look for coach Harbaugh to still run a ton. Though look for Boldin and Stallworth, both who have something to prove on their new team, to be reliable options and put up decent numbers when given the opportunities. Throwing for over 3,600 yards last season, Flacco could easily reach the 4,000-yard plateau and emerge into a stronger fantasy QB option. Let's not forget about veteran 1,000-yard WR Derrick Mason, and by also adding a veteran QB in Marc Bulger, it can only help in Flacco's development, especially in the passing department. Adding those weapons after running and receiving for over 1,300 yards and 700 yards respectively last season, Rice can have an even better year in '10.
ALSO
The kicking game was a little shaky last season. Between kickers Billy Cundiff and Steve Hauschka, nine out of 30 FG attempts were missed, which is a lot, especially for a team that plays in a lot of close and/or cold-weather games. Adding a veteran in Shayne Graham provides a little more stability as well as some experience kicking in similar conditions. As far as the return game goes, the Ravens looked to have found their guy in CB Lardarius Webb, who had a great rookie season, with over 900 return yards and a 26-yard per return average.
