NOTE: Adding a playmaker like Holmes should open up the field for Sanchez as he tries to evolve even more in his sophomore season. With LT seemingly losing a couple steps and a young Shonn Greene, who busted out on the scene late last season and not enduring a full season of games yet, it would be hard to rely on one of these RBs for your team.
THE BIG QUESTION
What will be the impact of Gang Green's big offensive off-season additions?
They did add some big playmaker-type names to the offense to try and help QB Mark Sanchez improve from his sub-par rookie season. The team will be without Holmes for the first four games of the season. That should be enough games to figure out what the true identity of the team is when he makes his debut in Week 5. It will also give opportunities to other options like WR Jerricho Cotchery and TE Dustin Keller and see if they can take advantage and show that they shouldn't be forgotten when Holmes finally enters the lineup. In my eyes, the difference-maker will be Holmes. I think with him and Edwards on the outside getting most of the attention, I look for Cotchery and Keller to make real fantasy impacts and be those sleepers that get you over the top.
ALSO
What will be the impact of the team's overhaul at RB?
Losing Thomas Jones, who had a career year and then suddenly lost his job in the postseason, I think will be costly for this season in the fantasy world. The Jets lost a trustworthy workhorse -- one who helped blanket the struggles Sanchez went through during his rookie campaign. Now, they are relying on a veteran All-Pro who seemed to have lost a little bit in his giddy-up (LT) and a young horse who burst onto the scene in the postseason after limited action in the regular season (Shonn Greene). With them and rookie Joe McKnight, the ball should be divided up rather evenly. In conclusion, with no clear-cut #1 on the depth chart, there isn't a reliable fantasy running option, at least for this season.

NOTE: The starting QB position is Sanchez's to keep for a very long time. It will be interesting to see how he reacts with his new weapons. The RB rotation is unsettled, no one should get the majority of the carries. The team lost a little bit in the kicking game, giving away veteran Jay Feely and gaining Nick Folk, who had a horrific junior year in Dallas and is not used to kicking in a cold weather environment. Returner Brad Smith has shown to be versatile and explosive since his inception into the league.
