5. Murphy, Troy PF IND may be moved
His contract expires at the end of the season. The rub is that the Pacers are thin up front, with really just big men Hansbrough and Foster in tow. Murphy could go either way on a new team, depending on their front court depth. It's a situation to watch.
4. Stoudemire, Amare PF PHO is done in the desert
Apparently, he will definitely move on. He spent last week in Miami and will spend this week in Chicago. Phoenix GM Steve Ker just packed his bags, and Amare will be next. Poor Steve Nash has trouble getting to the Finals. This won't help matters.
3. Kidd, Jason PG DAL may come off the bench
It's nice to hear a superstar recognize their decline and express that it's okay to come off the bench. It would mean fewer minutes and fewer rebounds and assists, so assess the situation once draft day arrives, and realize that you probably won't want to take Kidd as high as you have in the past.
2. Maggette, Corey SF GS was traded to MIL for Bell, Charlie G and Gadzuric, Dan C
Maggette should do well enough with the Bucks, as long as he can stay on the court, though his per game numbers are sure to dip in the midwest after leaving Don Nelson's high-octane offense on the left coast. Bell and Gadzuric will continue to be non-factors in fantasy.
1. Dalembert, Samuel C was traded to SAC for Hawes, Spencer C and Nocioni, Andres F
Dalembert could do much better in Sacramento than he did in Philly in the up-tempo offense. Hawes should back up Elton Brand at center with the Sixers but still get 30 minutes of court time per night. He'll be an acceptable fantasy C2. Nocioni will likely get 20-25 bench minutes per night, making him a non-factor in fantasy hoops.
ALSO
Mike Miller SF WAS is sure to want to sign with a team with a chance to win it all at this stage of his career, so consider his time in Washington over... Jordan Farmar and Shannon Brown G LAL are likely to leave LA in hopes of landing more playing time elsewhere... Greg Oden C POR is expected to be 100% by October's training camp. Maybe, but how many regular season games can he stay healthy for? We'd only draft him at a big discount... Bill Walker SF NY is dropping his playing weight from 240 to 220. If he gets minutes, he could be a decent fantasy reserve in 12-team leagues... Eddy Curry C NY is still battling a calf injury, but don't be shocked if he plays more games and minutes this season and actually scores some points and pulls down some boards, as it's a contract year for him... Linas Kleiza F/G is playing great in Europe and will honor the final year of his contract. If he returns to the NBA, it'll be in 2011-12... Nikola Pekovic PF may play for the Wolves this season, coming over from Greece, further complicating the big man picture in Minnesota, with Jefferson, Love, and probably Milicic already in tow.
