5. Driver, Donald WR GB has both knees scoped
Normally this would signal a red flag with an aging player, but on the flip side, surgeries like these can re-invigorate players. The latter seems to be the case here, as Driver says he feels better than he has in years. He's a "safe" WR choice in the middle of your draft.
4. Royal, Eddie WR DEN could improve this season
Orton barely ever looked his way with Brandon Marshall on the other side of the field. Royal had trouble with the new coach's system. Now Marshall is gone and he's a year into the new system. He was awful in fantasy last year, so there's no place to go but up. He should be considered an upside option at WR that should come at a cheap price. Go for him late.
3. Knox, Johnny WR CHI could break out in 2010
Knox looks like a great fit in the Martz offense. A few wide receivers take big jumps in production each year. Given the circumstances, Knox should be one of those this season.
2. Bryant, Dez WR DAL has nagging injuries
Bryant should be the next great NFL wide receiver, but watch his injuries through the pre-season. He could end up having an inconsistent rookie season due to injury if this continues through August.
1. Floyd, Malcom WR SD is looking good
This is important, because Vince Jackson's holdout could last into the season. Drafting now, you'd take Floyd as a late lottery ticket. We'll see what happens as the summer moves along.
ALSO
Michael Turner RB ATL says we should set our clocks back to 2008. He thinks he can have a season similar to that one this year. If that's the case, he should make owners that take a chance on him in the first round after an injury-marred 2009 happy... Antonio Gates TE SD says his injured foot feels fine now... Kellen Winslow TE TB says he feels pain in his knee every day. He may work through it, but it's at least something to monitor through the pre-season... Todd Heap TE BAL can't stay healthy. However, the Ravens plan to get him the ball often when he is. Draft him late, and enjoy a nice potential steal that you can plug into your FLEX slot if you already have a top TE. Or just wait at TE and draft Shiancoe for when Heap is hurt...It looks like Washington is the most likely destination for RB Brian Westbrook... Quinton Ganther RB SEA could get plenty of goal line carries. Watch the pre-season. If this is true, knock Justin Forsett down a peg... Ryan Moats RB HOU was released. He fell behind Slaton, Foster, and the rookie Tate. He was then signed by Minnesota. Behind Peterson and Gerhart, he's not likely to be a fantasy factor... Dominic Hixon WR NYG is out for the season after tearing his ACL. This is not fantasy relevant, but it's something you should know anyway... Muhsin Muhammad WR CAR retired. We'll miss you, Moose.
