By looking at our RotoCommunity Expert League bids, we can help you with your waiver wire considerations. Here are the leagues we're using as points of analysis (both weekly transactions, TC $1000 FAAB budget, U $100 FAAB budget):

Ask a question about your waiver and line-up situations in our FORUM. Leave a comment about this article down below.

Meredith, Cla RP BAL ($102 TC, - drop Arrieta, Jake SP CLE)

With Mike Gonzalez on the DL, Meredith will battle Jim Johnson (already owned in this league) for save opportunities. While Johnson seems to be the early favorite, Meredith certainly has a good chance to pick up a few saves or to steal the job outright. The $102 seems high, but is reasonable when you consider how difficult it is to come by saves in a 12 team AL-only league. Meredith is a good add in all AL-only leagues.

Arias, Joaquin 2B TEX ($29 TC, - drop Breslow, Craig RP OAK)

Arias is doing a tremendous job filling in for Ian Kinsler while Kinsler recovers from an ankle injury. However, with Kinsler due back at the end of the month, his time in the starting line-up is limited, and with Michael Young occupying third and Elvis Andrus at short, Arias is unlikely to see extensive at bats at either of those positions. Arias should play everyday for about two more weeks, and move to the utility role after Kinsler returns, making him a nice short term add in AL-only leagues.

Fister, Doug SP SEA ($22 TC, - drop Buck, Travis OF OAK)

Fister pitched eight scoreless innings against the A's last week and instantly became a waiver wire darling. However, in his first start of the season, also against the A's, Fister only lasted four innings and took the loss. In 2009, Fister made 10 starts for the M's and was moderately successful, perhaps indicating that Fister can maintain long term value in AL-only leagues. However, Fister has never been seen as much of a prospect and had limited success in the minors, so even if he is able to maintain a spot in the rotation once Cliff Lee returns, his upside is limited.

ALSO

A slow week for pick-ups in general... Jason Vargas SP SEA was picked up in the UALC after a solid start last week and has upside similar to Fister's. It's likely that one or the other will get bumped from the rotation when Lee returns... Justin Tuner 2B BAL was picked up, but with Lugo in front of him, and the emergence of Ty Wigginton as an option at second to fill in for the injured Brian Roberts, Turner does not have any immediate value... Lastly, Francisco Cervelli C NYY was rostered. I like this move a lot. It appears that he will be paired with CC Sabathia, and a Jorge Posada injury is always around the corner. If Posada goes down, Cervelli instantly gains a lot of a value as an everyday player in the Yanks strong line-up.
