5. Holt, Torry (JAC) signed with NE
This smells alot like the Joey Galloway signing. He'll be behind Moss, Edelman, and Welker (when he returns) on the depth chart. He'll likely be quite inconsistent, making him tough to use in fantasy.
4. Scheffler, Tony TE (DET) was traded to DET
Apparently the Lions will take it easy with Brandon Pettigrew as he recovers from his torn ACL. Unfortunately, they'll have to split time down the stretch, as they do the exact same thing on the field. This makes neither one worth drafting, unfortunately.
3. Ginn, Ted (MIA) was traded to SF
He's still young and can improve, but he just drops too many balls to be a fantasy factor. Plus, Gore, Crabtree, and Davis will demand most of the offensive touches. Ginn should continue to be a non-factor in SF as he was in MIA. He'll catch some deep balls, but not enough to be helpful to your fantasy team.
2. Leftwich, Byron QB (TB) was traded to PIT
Pittsburgh made this move to possibly open the door for a trade of Big Ben out of town. If that happens, look for the Steelers to really re-focus on their running game and defense. This is good news for Rashard Mendenhall in that he could get more carries but bad in the sense that defenses can pay more attention to stopping him.
1. Roethlisberger, Ben QB PIT has been suspended for 6 games
It could be reduced to four games. I love taking players at discounts for non-injury reasons, and in standard leagues, you could certainly find a replacement for him for 4-6 weeks. Still, if he ends up on a new team, he'll have that learning curve... The advice would be to take him at a discount as a Steeler but likely let somebody else inherit the risk if he's dealt.
ALSO
With Burleson out of town, Deion Branch WR SEA could be worth a flier as your fantasy WR3, though he's proven that health is an issue for him. Coach Carroll likes him, anyway... Bruce Gradkowski QB OAK tore his pectoral muscle lifting weights. He could still open the season as the Raiders' starting QB. He has time to recover.
