Below, we look at the happenings from the past week in the NBA and apply what we learn in order to assist us in our waiver wire moves and trades. Our Games-per-Week Schedule Grid is especially useful throughout the season, so make sure you download it, print it, and keep it by your side to consult for every decision you make. Personally, I like to take a blue highlighter and "blue out" the column for the current week each Tuesday as to easier see the good and bad stretches on the horizon.

TOP FIVE PLAYER NEWS BITS FROM THE PAST WEEKWe tell you whether you should ADD, WATCH, IGNORE, or DROP the player based on the recent news and upcoming schedule. When you see something like 4-3-3-4 referring to the upcoming schedule, each number refers to games per week with the upcoming Monday as the starting point. A "shallow" league is 130 players deep. A "deep" league is 154 or more players deep.
5. Holiday, Jrue PG PHI
The addition of Iverson to the team was a real negative for Holiday fans. It looks like Iverson is done for the season, though. In shallow leagues, you need to jump on Lou Williams if he's available. More likely, though, you're in a deep league considering Holiday. ADD him if you need assists, but beware that his numbers could drop when Willie Green returns. Philly plays three consecutive four-game weeks starting on Monday.
4. Rodriguez, Sergio PG NY
Duhon is out and Rodriguez is officially in as the NY PG. I got to see a bit of the game on Tuesday, and Rodriguez looked pretty solid. Most of have that last spot on our bench filled by an iffy player. Sergio is a good ADD in any league to replace that riff-raff on your bench. NY has a 4-4-4-2-4-4 schedule coming right up. Also, TRADE away Tracy McGrady if you picked him up. He looks very tentative out there, and his fragile body won't give him enough time to get back into a groove.
3. Watson, C.J. G GS
Watson played his best with Monta Ellis out of the line-up, but amazingly, Coach Nellie is giving Ellis,Curry, Morrow, AND Watson enough playing time to all flourish, especially with Maggette out. It may not last, but for now, Watson is an ADD with a four-game slate in the upcoming week. So is Morrow, if he's also available in your league.
2. Thornton, Marcus SG NO
About a month ago, he got hot, won the starting SG job, then got hurt, and then benched. The roller coaster ride continued when he scored 37 points off the bench Tuesday night. It's time to pick him back up in fantasy leagues, though NO has a fairly light h2h schedule down the stretch (3-4-4-3-4-3).
1. Thornton, Al SF WAS
Calling all Thorntons! Josh Howard was the starter, but he's now out for the season. Thornton suddenly finds himself as a primary scorer for the Wiz. He'll give you a steal and a block per game, too. And the Wiz play a nice schedule down the stretch (3-3-4-4-4-4). ADD him in all leagues. Also, the man he left behind in LAC, Rasual Butler can be ADDED in all leagues. He's raining down threes right now.
ALSO
Shannon Brown SG LAL can now be DROPPED. Kobe returned on Tuesday, and Brown won't do enough while Kobe is in there, which should be the rest of the way... Deep-leaguers keep an eye on Mario Chalmers MIA, as he has played well enough lately to perhaps warrant finishing the season as the starting Heat PG...Centers Javale McGee WAS and DeAndre Jordan LAC were potentially looking good after last week's trades. However, neither one is really taking to an expanded role. They can be ignored now in all but the deepest of leagues.
