Below, we look at the happenings from the past week in the NBA and apply what we learn in order to assist us in our waiver wire moves and trades. Our Games-per-Week Schedule Grid is especially useful throughout the season, so make sure you download it, print it, and keep it by your side to consult for every decision you make. Personally, I like to take a blue highlighter and "blue out" the column for the current week each Tuesday as to easier see the good and bad stretches on the horizon.

TOP PLAYER NEWS BITS FROM THE PAST WEEK (NBA TRADING DEADLINE SPECIAL!)

We tell you whether you should ADD, WATCH, IGNORE, or DROP the player based on the recent news and upcoming schedule. When you see something like 4-3-3-4 referring to the upcoming schedule, each number refers to games per week with the upcoming Monday as the starting point. A "shallow" league is 130 players deep. A "deep" league is 154 or more players deep.

DEADLINE TRANSACTION SUMMARY (only fantasy-relevant players are mentioned)

Ronnie Brewer SG (UTA) was traded to MEM

Brewer now has absolutely no value backing up Mayo and Gay. Wes Matthews becomes a starter in UTA and is now relevant in deep leagues, though he still may rotate pretty evenly with C.J. Miles and Kyle Korver.

Kevin Martin SG (SAC) was traded to HOU for Carl Landry PF

Unloading Martin opens up some minutes and touches for Casspi, Greene, and Garcia, which is good for SAC. Landry will rotate in with Hawes and Thompson and do about what he did in HOU. Martin could score a bit more in HOU and take pressure off Ariza on offense.

Tracy McGrady F/G (HOU) and Sergio Rodriguez PG (SAC) were traded to NY for Larry Hughes G, Jared Jeffries SF, and Jordan Hill PF in a 3-team deal

In deep leagues, if you have an open reserve slot, stick T-Mac in there, but don't expect much. Rodriguez could end up being relevant in deep leagues if he can work his way past Duhon in the rotation. The three going to HOU are NBA bench fodder right now, so they can be ignored.

Nate Robinson G (NY) was traded to BOS for Eddie House G

Drop Nate in shallow leagues. Expect moderate production in deep ones. BOS has a great 3-4-4-4-4 h2h schedule coming up. House gains moderate value in deep leagues as a three-point specialist.

John Salmons SG (CHI) was traded to MIL for Hakim Warrick PF

Salmons could thrive in a new environment -- or he could fade into a rotation with Ridnour and Bell. Regardless, it's a 5 game week coming right up for MIL, so depending on your roster situation, get as many Bucks into your line-up as possible (Delfino, Moute, Salmons, Ridnour). Warrick should continue to be unproductive in CHI as he has been in MIL. Kirk Hinrich G will benefit from less competition minus Salmons.

Tyrus Thomas C/PF (CHI) was traded to CHA for Flip Murray G and Acie Law PG

Murray could soak up some of the departed Salmons' minutes in CHI but should be of little fantasy consequence. Thomas should do well playing extensive minutes ahead of Mohammed and Chandler in CHA. Tyrus has a nice 3-4-4-4-3-4-4 schedule coming up now.

Marcus Camby C (LAC) was traded to POR for Travis Outlaw SF and Steve Blake PG

Outlaw could get some run at the expense of Rasual Butler when he returns from injury. Blake could get some run if Baron Davis ends up with injury/attitude problems down the stretch. With Camby now in Portland, DeAndre Jordan C will see extended minutes. Beware the low FTP and probable inconsistency, but ADD him for nice rebound and block totals. The Clips play four games in each of the next three weeks, too.

Josh Howard SF (DAL) was traded to WAS for Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood C, and DeShawn Stevenson SG

Howard will benefit from less competition for touches. Butler and Haywood will benefit from being on a team run by Jason Kidd. Stevenson will continue to be worthless. With Haywood and Caron Butler out of town, look for WAS C JaVale McGee to provide extra rebounds and blocks in deep leagues and Mike Miller SF to pick up the pace on his threes in shallow ones.

Antawn Jamison PF (WAS) was traded to CLE for Al Thornton SF (LAC) in a 3-team deal

With Jamison now in Cleveland, Andray Blatche will see extended minutes. He may not average 20-10, but he could give you a solid 15-8 with some defensive stats thrown in. WAS has a nice 4-3-3-4-4-4-4 sched coming up, too. Thornton will still likely be worthless behind Josh Howard. Jamison's stats could take a small hit. PFs Hickson and Varejao take the biggest hits for CLE.
