On December, 2009, RotoCommunity.com participated in a fantasy football mock draft (on Mock Draft Central) with the other industry experts listed below. We assumed standard PPR scoring with 10 (QB 2RB 3WR TE FX K D) starters and 6 reserves. Here's how the draft went down round-by-round, with analysis following each round.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING!!!

I had web browser problems during this draft. My Round 3 (Slaton) and 8 (Lynch) picks were auto-picked for me. I'll elaborate below, but just know that I did not make those picks.

ROUND 1

RoundTeamPlayerPosTeam
R1 P1Chicago BeersJohnson, ChrisRBTEN
R1 P2Patrick WelshPeterson, AdrianRBMIN
R1 P3Tony CincottaJones-Drew, MauriceRBJAX
R1 P4Sideline FoulGore, FrankRBSF

R1 P6MikeBlewittJackson, StevenRBSTL
R1 P7REDRUMFitzgerald, LarryWRARI
R1 P8DelGriffithJohnson, AndreWRHOU
R1 P9AdkinsArrowheadsCharles, JamaalRBKC
R1 P10JunkyardjakeForte, MattRBCHI
R1 P11RotoCommunity.comMendenhall, RashardRBPIT
R1 P12@JoelHenardWilliams, DeAngeloRBCAR

Even in PPR, I'm still more confident taking two solid RBs with my first two picks. Pittsburgh got into some crazy passing contests last year, but I feel that Mendenhall can be an elite back in 2010. The Steelers can't pass that much again, can they? That looked a little high for Charles, but then again, maybe not. Too bad Ray Rice doesn't score many TDs, or he'd be Top-3 in PPR.

ROUND 2

R2 P1@JoelHenardJohnson, CalvinWRDET
R2 P2RotoCommunity.comTurner, MichaelRBATL
R2 P3JunkyardjakeBrees, DrewQBNO
R2 P4AdkinsArrowheadsBenson, CedricRBCIN
R2 P5DelGriffithWayne, ReggieWRIND
R2 P6REDRUMManning, PeytonQBIND
R2 P7MikeBlewittMoss, RandyWRNE
R2 P8@fantasytazWelker, WesWRNE
R2 P9Sideline FoulMarshall, BrandonWRDEN
R2 P10Tony CincottaRodgers, AaronQBGB
R2 P11Patrick WelshWells, ChrisRBARI
R2 P12Chicago BeersAddai, JosephRBIND

Turner is a touchdown machine when healthy. I think, with a healthy Turner, and Matt Ryan in his third year, the Falcons will score points in 2010. I just don't like taking QBs early, so I was happy to see others draft Brees, Manning, and Rodgers. This was before Welker got hurt, obviously. He's now a late-round flier. It feels a bit early for Wells and Addai.

ROUND 3

R3 P1Chicago BeersWhite, RoddyWRATL
R3 P2Patrick WelshAustin, MilesWRDAL
R3 P3Tony CincottaJackson, DeSeanWRPHI
R3 P4Sideline FoulSchaub, MattQBHOU
R3 P5@fantasytazJackson, VincentWRSD

R3 P7REDRUMTomlinson, LaDainianRBSD
R3 P8DelGriffithBrown, RonnieRBMIA
R3 P9AdkinsArrowheadsSmith, SteveWRCAR
R3 P10JunkyardjakeBoldin, AnquanWRARI
R3 P11RotoCommunity.comSlaton, SteveRBHOU
R3 P12@JoelHenardBrady, TomQBNE

My idea was to take WRs in R3 and R4, but my browser shut down, and MDC gave me Slaton instead. I would have taken Ochocinco or Colston.I actually liked the Roddy, DeSean, Vincent trio, but just missed out on them. Knowshon and Ronnie could be nice nabs here. I still don't like QBs (Schaub, Brady) this early.

ROUND 4

R4 P1@JoelHenardGrant, RyanRBGB
R4 P2RotoCommunity.comJennings, GregWRGB
R4 P3JunkyardjakeStewart, JonathanRBCAR
R4 P4AdkinsArrowheadsOchocinco, ChadWRCIN

R4 P9Sideline FoulJones, ThomasRBNYJ
R4 P10Tony CincottaJacobs, BrandonRBNYG
R4 P11Patrick WelshRice, SidneyWRMIN
R4 P12Chicago BeersColston, MarquesWRNO

This is where RBs get iffy, though Stewart could be nice. I'm still not feeling QBs yet, and you can wait on TEs. Sidney Rice would be another consideration, but it depends on who his QB will be in 2010.

ROUND 5

R5 P1Chicago BeersSmith, SteveWRNYG
R5 P2Patrick WelshGates, AntonioTESD
R5 P3Tony CincottaBowe, DwayneWRKC
R5 P4Sideline FoulWalker, MikeWRJAX
R5 P5@fantasytazMcNabb, DonovanQBPHI

R5 P7REDRUMPortis, ClintonRBWAS
R5 P8DelGriffithHolmes, SantonioWRPIT
R5 P9AdkinsArrowheadsRomo, TonyQBDAL
R5 P10JunkyardjakeMcCoy, LeSeanRBPHI
R5 P11RotoCommunity.comNicks, HakeemWRNYG
R5 P12@JoelHenardSmith, KevinRBDET

I'd have considered Romo here. I love Nicks' potential, though, since I missed Bowe and Holmes. The good RBs are all gone. No need to take Gates, as you see the nice TEs in the next round.

ROUND 6

R6 P1@JoelHenardWitten, JasonTEDAL
R6 P2RotoCommunity.comWarner, KurtQBARI
R6 P3JunkyardjakeDavis, VernonTESF
R6 P4AdkinsArrowheadsGonzalez, TonyTEATL
R6 P5DelGriffithMcFadden, DarrenRBOAK
R6 P6REDRUMHoushmandzadeh, T.JWRSEA

R6 P9Sideline FoulJackson, FredRBBUF
R6 P10Tony CincottaDaniels, OwenTEHOU
R6 P11Patrick WelshCutler, JayQBCHI
R6 P12Chicago BeersRoethlisberger, BenQBPIT

This was obviously before Warner retired. In hindsight, I think my perfect team at this point would be Mendenhall, Turner, Jennings, Ochocinco, Romo, Vernon Davis. I could then fill out with spare RB and WR for a while, plus back-ups at QB and TE until I have to take the D/ST and K at the end.Every pick in this round seems reasonable to me.

ROUND 7

R7 P1Chicago BeersBrown, DonaldRBIND
R7 P2Patrick WelshMaclin, JeremyWRPHI
R7 P3Tony CincottaForsett, JustinRBSEA
R7 P4Sideline FoulCrabtree, MichaelWRSF

R7 P7REDRUMOwens, TerrellWRBUF
R7 P8DelGriffithRyan, MattQBATL

R7 P10JunkyardjakeCotchery, JerrichoWRNYJ
R7 P11RotoCommunity.comOlsen, GregTECHI
R7 P12@JoelHenardEdwards, BraylonWRCLE

I like RBs Brown and Forsett here. Maclin and Crabtree are nice, too. I'm done with T.O. in fantasy, personally. I think Olsen and Cutler develop better chemistry in their second year together.

ROUND 8

R8 P1@JoelHenardWard, HinesWRPIT
R8 P2RotoCommunity.comLynch, MarshawnRBBUF
R8 P3JunkyardjakeMeachem, RobertWRNO
R8 P4AdkinsArrowheadsRoyal, EddieWRDEN
R8 P5DelGriffithPalmer, CarsonQBCIN
R8 P6REDRUMJohnson, LarryRBKC
R8 P7MikeBlewittGonzalez, AnthonyWRIND
R8 P8@fantasytazBritt, KennyWRTEN
R8 P9Sideline FoulHarrison, JeromeRBCLE
R8 P10Tony CincottaBreaston, SteveWRARI
R8 P11Patrick WelshBradshaw, AhmadRBNYG
R8 P12Chicago BeersMiller, HeathTEPIT

MDC took Lynch for me here, as I was again disconnected (right after my Olsen pick). I would have preferred taking a shot at Harrison. Hopefully the Browns will just let him have that starting gig. Britt is probably the best receiver in this round, followed by Meachem. I don't see Palmer ever putting up big numbers again, and LJ is toast.

ROUND 9

R9 P1Chicago BeersSproles, DarrenRBSD
R9 P2Patrick WelshHightower, TimRBARI
R9 P3Tony CincottaMaroney, LaurenceRBNE
R9 P4Sideline FoulWinslow, KellenTETB

R9 P9AdkinsArrowheadsWilliams, RoyWRDAL
R9 P10JunkyardjakeEvans, LeeWRBUF
R9 P11RotoCommunity.comAvery, DonnieWRSTL
R9 P12@JoelHenardJones, FelixRBDAL

Winslow could do well in his second year with Freeman, and Cooley could be a nice injury comeback player at this juncture. Avery could do well with a new QB.

ROUND 10

R10 P1@JoelHenardDriver, DonaldWRGB
R10 P2RotoCommunity.comManning, EliQBNYG
R10 P3JunkyardjakeGreene, ShonnRBNYJ

R10 P9Sideline FoulWilliams, CadillacRBTB
R10 P10Tony CincottaFlacco, JoeQBBAL
R10 P11Patrick WelshRobinson, LaurentWRSTL
R10 P12Chicago BeersMason, DerrickWRBAL

I like Eli as insurance, but would only use him in a superb match-up. Greene will still share with Jones and Washington but is a nice nab here.

ROUND 11

R11 P1Chicago BeersGarcon, PierreWRIND
R11 P2Patrick WelshFloyd, MalcomWRSD
R11 P3Tony CincottaJones, JacobyWRHOU
R11 P4Sideline FoulAromashodu, DevinWRCHI

R11 P10JunkyardjakeMassaquoi, MohamedWRCLE
R11 P11RotoCommunity.comHester, DevinWRCHI
R11 P12@JoelHenardOrton, KyleQBDEN

Garcon sure has looked great in the playoffs. There's really nothing exciting left at this point. I just grabbed Hester for depth.

ROUND 12

R12 P2RotoCommunity.comMiller, ZachTEOAK

R12 P10Tony CincottaDavis, JamesRBCLE
R12 P11Patrick WelshStafford, MatthewQBDET
R12 P12Chicago BeersGarrard, DavidQBJAX

Miller had his moments late in the year, and is good enough to carry as your back-up TE. Those are good QB2s, but I'm not into any of these WRs.

ROUND 13

R13 P1Chicago BeersPittsburgh SteelersDEFPIT
R13 P2Patrick WelshThomas, DevinWRWAS

R13 P10JunkyardjakeDavis, FredTEWAS
R13 P11RotoCommunity.comWhite, LenDaleRBTEN
R13 P12@JoelHenardSan Diego ChargersDEFSD

Some defenses came off the board, but I feel it's too early for that. I like to play D/ST match-ups in-season, so I take mine second-to-last. White is a lottery ticket there. If he lands in the right situation, he could serve as a bye-week fill-in for my big boys.

ROUND 14

R14 P1@JoelHenardCribbs, JoshWRCLE

Foster is another lottery ticket. He could do well as the featured back if he got a chance. And here come the kickers!

R15 P10JunkyardjakeJackson, BrandonRBGB
R15 P11RotoCommunity.comTennessee TitansDEFTEN
R15 P12@JoelHenardKnox, JohnnyWRCHI

Freeman is the best thing in this round. My D/ST pick would be of a decent D playing a potentially lousy offense in Week 1. Not knowing the schedule yet, I just took the Titans, who were pretty darn good after their 2009 bye week.

ROUND 16

R16 P1@JoelHenardPrater, MattKDEN
R16 P2RotoCommunity.comAkers, DavidKPHI
R16 P3JunkyardjakeHartley, GarrettKNO

R16 P11Patrick WelshTynes, LawrenceKNYG
R16 P12Chicago BeersAvant, JasonWRPHI

I needed to fill my kicker spot, and the Eagles traditionally move the ball well, so I chose Akers. Overall, despite MDC making a couple picks for me, I thought I did well, for a 2010 football mock on 12/30/09.
