NFL - 2009 Fantasy Football Week 12 Quarterback (QB) Player Rankings

ThePME

We base our weekly rankings on the strength of opposing defenses overall, individual match-ups, and expected game situations (shoot-out vs. field-goal battle vs. blowout). They're based on the WCOFF/NFFC PPR scoring systems. Hopefully, for the most part, just looking at the rankings helps you figure out who to sit or start. We set the projections early in the week and then comb through them and make any necessary edits on Friday.

QUARTERBACKS

  1. Aaron Rogers GB @ DET
  2. Tom Brady NE @ NO
  3. Drew Brees NO v NE
  4. Brett Favre MIN v CHI - Favre has been good, so there is no question about starting him
  5. Peyton Manning IND @ HOU
  6. Philip Rivers SD v KC
  7. Matt Schaub HOU v IND
  8. Kurt Warner ARZ @ TEN (Q)* - concussion may keep him out, but it's a great match up if he plays
  9. Donovan McNabb PHI v WAS
  10. Carson Palmer CIN v CLE
  11. Matt Cassel KC @ SD - continuously underrated, Cassel should take advantage of a porous SD defense
  12. Matt Ryan ATL v TB - rebounded nicely last week and walks into a cupcake match up
  13. Matt Hasselbeck SEA @ STL - if he can't produce this week don't bother ever using him again
  14. Tony Romo DAL v OAK - recent struggles get him a temporary bump down the rankings
  15. Eli Manning NYG @ DEN
  16. Vince Young TEN v ARZ - double digit points every game he's started
  17. Jay Cutler CHI @ MIN
  18. Alex Smith SF v JAX
  19. David Garrard JAX @ SF
  20. Matthew Stafford DET v GB

INJURIES

  • Kurt Warner: He suffered a concussion last Sunday and is about 50/50 to play this week. He says he feels better, but if recent concussions have taught us anything, it's that he'll likely sit out. You'll want no part of Matt Leinart.
  • Ben Roethlisberger: He suffered a concussion in overtime against the Chiefs and left the game. Unlike Arizona, the Steelers need a win this week to stay ahead in the AFC Wild Card hunt and will need Big Ben to win. He says he'll play, and if anyone should know his status, it should be him. Saturday UPDATE! He's OUT!
  • Matt Stafford: Will miss Thursday's game with a left shoulder injury. Daunte Culpepper will start in his place.... don't start him.  Thursday UPDATE! He's IN!
