The following players may not earn their draft position. Do realize that all the players with green in the games column in our PROJECTIONS files are targets and red are players to be wary of, but the players below are especially worth hesitation because owners in your league are likely to over-value them. Our recommended draft position is listed first in each instance below.
CENTERS
- 12 - Gasol, Pau C/PF LAL - He won't bust in a big way, but it's so crowded in LA... he feels more like a second-rounder to me
- 78 - Camby, Marcus C LAC - the injury factor plus the addition of Blake Griffin limits his 09-10 value
- 79 - Bogut, Andrew C MIL - That bad back is enough for me to avoid him
POWER FORWARDS
- 25 - Garnett, Kevin PF BOS - People unfortunately remember his great years on the Wolves... he's just not the same player... that knee scares me
- 52 - Boozer, Carlos PF UTA - To be blunt, I had Boozer last year, and he screwed me with "the injury that lingered forever" ... I just don't want to deal with him this year
SMALL FORWARDS
- 109 - Artest, Ron SF/SG LAL - Like with Gasol, he should be okay, but I don't expect him to live up to his name value on that deep team
- 158 - Maggette, Corey SF GS - Nellie apparently has given him the starting job, but don't buy it... 1) it won't last, and 2) he'll get hurt
SHOOTING GUARDS
- 67 - Ginobili, Manu SG SA - The arrival of Richard Jefferson should knock down Gino's stats a bit, and do you really trust him to stay healthy?
- 84 - Redd, Michael SG MIL - Same as Gino, pretty much... I don't trust him due to his injury proclivity
POINT GUARDS
- 114 - Iverson, Allen SG/PG MEM - Very crowded team, and I seriously doubt his ability to stay on the court (injury) at this point in his career
- 115 - Bibby, Mike PG ATL - He should stay healthy, but I like both Crawford and Teague better... Bibby's clearly on the decline
