The following players should out-earn their draft position. Do realize that all the players with green in the games column in our PROJECTIONS files are targets and red are players to be wary of, but the players below are termed "sleepers" because owners in your league may not quite realize how valuable they could be. Our recommended draft position is listed first in each instance below.
CENTERS
- 42 - Bargnani, Andrea C/PF TOR - Good to start with, but could really explode once Bosh gets dealt
- 71 - Oden, Greg C POR - People will overlook him because of the injury factor, but especially in shallow leagues, just make sure you have depth at the position in case
- 96 - Hibbert, Roy C IND - Hibbert could win championships for his owners this year - GREAT preseason
- 149 - Brown, Kwame C DET - Kwame is a good one to use your last pick on in deeper leagues, as he could go 9-6-1 in DET (PTS-REB-BLK)
POWER FORWARDS
- 55 - Randolph, Anthony PF GS - Randolph will likely just go 15-9-1 in the Nellie circus, but he has 18-10-2 potential in him
- 56 - Randolph, Zach PF/C MEM - Given his personality andteam situation, everybody is so down on him, he becomes a value pick late
- 75 - Thomas, Tyrus PF CHI - Super young talent will break out this year
- 122 - Jianlian, Yi PF NJ - Looks like he's putting it together in the preseason
- 143 - Warrick, Hakim PF/SF MIL - He'll get an opportunity in the wide-open Bucks frontcourt
SMALL FORWARDS
- 6 - Granger, Danny SF IND - I put him here because I often see him drop past pick 6, which should never happen
- 77 - Chandler, Wilson SF NY - He is the most talented wing man on the Knicks and will finish the season with a strong stat line
- 108 - Ariza, Trevor SF HOU - Should blossom out in Houston, where hisstellar defense will now be complemented by some offense - think of him as a younger, mini-Artest
- 150 - Gallinari, Danilo SF NY - The man can shoot and provides good depth for fantasy teams in deep leagues - he just needs to stay healthy
- 163 - Wright, Julian SF NO - He's not terribly exciting, but he should provide good endgame value in deeper leagues
SHOOTING GUARDS
- 122 - Augustin, D.J. PG/SG CHA - Will have the opportunity now, with Bell out
- 162 - Williams, Terrence SF/SG NJ - Only in deep leagues, but has had a good preseason and should have opportunities this season
- 184 - DeRozan, DeMar SG TOR - See Williams, Terrence
POINT GUARDS
- 19 - Arenas, Gilbert PG WAS - Believe it - he's back
- 44 - Westbrook, Russell PG OKC - Low 08-09 FGP will scare some, but the kid could really step it up this season
- 90 - Williams, Lou PG/SG PHI - Should run with his newly found 35 mpg with Miller out of town
