NOTE: The Giants offense will enter the season with largely the same cast of characters that finished eighth in both total offense and scoring. Despite a pretty strong overall showing last season, many questions surround Big Blue’s offense. Can Eli Manning produce enough to be a number one fantasy quarterback? Which of the Giants talented young receivers will emerge as Manning’s number one target? And perhaps most importantly, will the Giants 2009 18th rated rushing attack reestablish itself as one of the league’s best?
THE BIG QUESTION
What can we expect from Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw in 2010?No matter how you measure it, both Jacobs and Bradshaw had disappointing campaigns last season after the Giants three headed attack of Jacobs, Bradshaw, and Derrick Ward tore the league apart two seasons ago. The real questions are why, and will they rebound in 2010? To me the why is simple. For one, Jacobs and Bradshaw sorely missed the change of pace provided by Ward. Although Ward struggled last season in Tampa Bay, he was a perfect fit for the Giants rotation. Secondly, the Giants offensive line was not nearly as effective or healthy in 2009 as they were in 2008. After being the team’s unquestioned most valuable unit in 2008, they looked very ordinary for most of last season and dealt with some injuries, most notably to Kareem McKenzie. So will Jacobs and Bradshaw see a return to form in 2010? Yes and no. Derrick Ward isn’t coming back, and will be sorely missed again in 2010. However, although a year older, this offensive line is better than they played in 2009. Expect the line to be better, and to see Jacobs and Bradshaw post better numbers in 2010 than they achieved in 2009. However, to hope for Jacobs to post another 1,000 yard and 15 touchdown season like he did in 2008 is asking too much.
ALSO
Who will emerge as Eli’s go to receiver?
This is a tough call, and I am actually a big fan of both Nicks and Steve Smith heading into the 2010 season. However, I think Nicks will be a better value on draft day. He will be available quite a bit later than Smith based on last year’s final numbers, but I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Nicks outproduces Smith. I love Nicks as a high upside selection, and Smith as a safe option after the elite options are off the board. Manningham is another interesting option that I think will be worth owning in all leagues even as only a third receiver. If Smith or Nicks gets hurt Manningham could put up big time numbers.
FANTASY DEPTH CHART

NOTE: NOTE: The depth chart is pretty cut and dry for the Giants. Manning is the clear number one, and a low end number one quarterback in fantasy leagues. If you draft Manning, be sure to grab a quality back-up as well. Jacobs will continue to see the majority of the carries with Bradshaw being a quality change of pace back with high upside. Boss is a emerging option at tight end. He won’t cost you a high pick and could produce above his average draft position. The defense remains a huge question mark. Don’t be surprised if they again emerge as an elite fantasy option, but don’t be surprised if they sit on the waiver wire all season long after a slow start.
